    R20 Amp mount

I am in the process of mounting my amps and tower speakers. With that being said, do you guys have any pics of how you mounted the amps on your R 20's? I think the port locker has a place to mount them I can feel a raised area in the glass. I kinda pulled the carpet back to look last night and it def does not have a board glassed in just seems a little thicker fiberglass. I would like to mount them without a exterior amp wall if at all possible just to keep the headaches down. At the same time I really do not want to run a screw out the side of the boat. I have some super short screws but still sweating pulling the trigger

    Thanks Dave

One option is to build an amp rack then glue some mounting points to the wall. Most are done on the outside wall. I will see if I can find several of them to post. Chpthril is the man to ask.

Yes, the port locker under the glove box has a raised area for amps. My RZR (same as r20) came with a wetSounds Micro installed there and I was amazed how long the screws were.

When I added a syn2 and a syn4 over the winter I was worried also, but had no issues.

That is a super clean looking install! I am thinking I am going to give it a try...... worst case I am out 3K to fix the hull right???? I have the same idea with the rubber isolators. I was thinking they would help improve Amp temp and keep them from vibrating loose. How long would you say the screws you used are? how deep are they in the glass?

Not an R20 but you can see how the amps are attached. http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/show...stereo-install

The screws I added are about a half inch deep and the ones that were installed from the factory with the micro are at least an inch deep. Im sure there is more then two inches before you bust through the hull, so keep it under an inch and you will be fine.

Thanks guys! I guess I am going to have to get my plan together and go for it! I will see where I am when the dust settles.

Here is the amp rack i made for my RZR.

I fixed some plastic blocks onto the original amp rack to space it a bit further off to allow me to conceal all the cabling...plus there wasn't enough room in original spot to hold all 4 amps.
