    Another alpha z wiring question

My 2011 came with 1 set of pro 80's. Last year I switched them out for a set of Rev10's run off a Syn 4, so the wiring was already there. Now I am getting ready to add a second set and another Syn 4. When I pulled the plastic plugs out of the holes at the mount, there are wires already run to the location. My question is are those spliced into the wires for the original set of Pro 80's so a second set could be run in parallel, or are they separate so they can be run to the new Syn 4? If they are separate, where would I find the other end? I don't see them at the amp wall.

    Jr,

I think you are going to that the 2nd set of wires is spliced in parallel with the 1st set. I have found that they are typically spliced in the lower section of the tower between the fold and the deck. You could do a single SD-2 for both pairs and leave the wires as is. Or separate the wires, and run them to the new Syn-4. The hard part is going to be passing that 2nd set through the lower half of the tower and the deck. Those holes are small.

Thanks Mike. I just took a quick look at it while I was doing some work at the lake house, but figured they were spliced together since I didn't see them anywhere below the rail. I will look into it a little deeper next time I'm down there.

Mine has all 4 points wired independently from the factory. If it came prewired from the factory yours should be the same. The factory wires are red and black not the standard stereo wire. Look at where they come out of the towers, which is the hinge on the observer side. Fold the tower and look up into the top section of the tower, all my wires were tucked in there.

Yes they were red and black. I will look a little closer next week when we go back down to the lake. Thanks.
