Recommendation for stereo

A buddy of mine has a I/O and wants to up grade to something more than 4 cabin speakers run off a deck.

Sounds like his budget is $1800. He definetely wants music back to boarder. He has 4 Jensen in boat speakers now which may be upgraded down road.

He is thinking of a pair of rev 8's and a 5 channel JL amp, and a free air sub.

I'm thinking
1 pr rev 8's
1 amp for rev 8's
1 amp for 4 cabin speakers and 1 sub
1 10"or 12" sub with enclosure
2 27 or 31 series batteries
on board pro-sport 2 bank charger

For a budget minded person, I bet he would be completely satisfied with ICON8 and 4 interior speakers, Alpine 6-1/2s, and a wetsounds sub. For an amp, he could search google and find the cheapest Alpine PDX-150.4 amp and a 500w mono ch amp for way under what a single wetsounds amp are retail. The towers can run 150w each of ch 1/2, and the interior 75w each to ch 3/4.

That system alone would be extremely loud.

If he acts fast, he could have a set of new Pro 80s for less then the Icons. Bridge them a 2 chnl deliver s solid 250W rms x 2. Plenty of 5 and 6 chnl amps that will power 4-6 in-boats and offer 400-500 watts rms to a 2 ohm sub.
