    Tower speaker Troubles

Man... I didn't have this much terrible deciding to get married????? I have gone from kicker 6-pack to 2 pair of pro 60's to I done know what.... There has been alot of talk about the Wet Sounds rev 8's & 10's and how good they are. We do want the music out to 80 ft. Austically speaking I think two pair of speakers look better?

Could I go with 1 pr of of the rev 8's and and 1 pair of the XST-650?

    or

The other option I suppose is 1 single pair of rev 10's.

    Dave,

Just to state the obvious, the Rev-8 is an 8" driver, while the xst-650 is the 6.5" XS-650 in a tower pod. With the larger Rev-8 powered and tuned properly, the contribution at surf/party-cove range from the smaller coaxial will be minimal as compared to the investment in the gear and the battery Ah's to drive them.

I would suggest spending a little more for a single pair of even larger Rev-10 or a second pair of Rev-8.

      Hey Mike,
I am almost thinking I should put 1 pair of rev 10's and be done with it!! If so I wonder if I should go with a swivel mount and mount on the pipe or use on of the factory mounts? I was thinking is I used a swivel mount right in the top corners, I may have more flexibility as far as aiming speakers and maybe keeping them out of the way as far as head room.

WOuld a ARC XDI804 be a good choice for a amp? Kicker 450.2??
What other options would there be

The Rev-10X will bolt directly to the factory locations of the Illusion tower. if you want to upgrade to the swivel, you have the option of using the tube clamp or bolt to the factory locations.

        The Arc KS300.4 or KS600.2, Wet Sounds SD-2, Syn-4 or HT-3.

In your opinion what would be the best location to clamp speaker?

            dave,

I would do the REV 10 X mount hard mounted to the upper factory mount. Unless you feel like you need to remove them for storage.

Then you can go with the swivel base plates direct to the factory locations. This allows you to swivel and quick disconnect them if you want.

I prefer this over the cross tube as both options are much cleaner and tucked out of the way.

As for amps. Wet Sounds has 3 options. HT-4 bridged is 300x2. SYN-4 bridged is 400x2. Sinister SD2 is 400x2 with ability to add second pair later and still have a ton of power.

Feel free to hit me up at twhite@wetsounds.com and I can get you in touch with our Canadian dist. They are very hands on guys and can work with you and a dealer close by to make sure you get exactly what you need.
