    2 Pro 485s to two Rev 10s

I had two Wet Sounds Pro 485s on my old boat and will be moving to two Rev 10s. Am I going to be pleasantly surprised or will I miss my two Pro 485s?

Yes, but I do not think you will be disappointing at all with the Rev-10. The Pro485 is one of the most linear tower speakers to date. You are going from four 8" mid-bass drivers and two powerful horns to two 10" HLCD. You may find yourself wanting to add a 2nd pair or a Pro410 later.

Also, I would ask what amp will be there to power your Rev10.

I will have a dedicated Syn 4 for the tower speakers, a dedicated Syn 4 for only the 4 internal sw-650s speakers, but I want to move them up to 6 Sw-650s, and will have a JL 1000 Watt Class D amplifier for my TC Sounds 12 inch Subwoofer. Any recommendations or comments? It sounds like I may be buying some speakers from you soon. I am adding a 3rd battery to the boat.

The Syn-4 is perfect for your 3 pairs of XS-650 in-boats. A Syn-4 is also perfect power for a single pair of Rev-10. If you decide later to add a 2nd set, you could either add a 2nd Syn4, or trade up to a single SD-2. If you wanted to add a REV-410, You could add a SYn-2 or trade the Syn-4 for an SD-6.

Moki what boat did you end up with? Was it the black Z3 from High Adventure?

A black and white Z3 from a private seller.

Cool. You will have to post some pics.

You are going to want more IMHO. 2 sets of Rev 10s is what I would go with.

                  Is it Ecutter's?

If you liked the sound of the 2 PRO485's, you will love the sound of the Rev10's. They are much smoother and cleaner sounding. If you are wanting similar output, you will be disappointed with just a pair of Rev10's. I don't think 4 will get you there but they will definitely do well and will sound much better doing it.

Tim @ Wet Sounds has been working on some crazy mounts for 2 Rev410's for the Alpha Z tower. It will be expensive but once he's done, it should be pretty trick and will be crazy loud!

Yeah, I think that I was one of the first Tige boats to put on Tim's Wet Sloundsl and one of the first to mount 2 Pro 485s. At the time I was looking at some NVS speakers, now I rarely see them. I am adding the 3rd battery, so I could add more speakers. Were you the other one that had a follow up bid on the San Antonio baseball player boat. I had just called on it when the bidding ended. It had a lot of nice features but I liked the color of Ecutter's and how well it has been maintained. Ecutter is a stud.

4 rev 10s can be crazy loud with the right power and tuning. More than 1 person has called my boat obnoxiously loud. I think the key is tuning though.

I have a ton of power (1500W RMS), a ton of input voltage and have spent a lot of time tuning. No doubt you can get 4 Rev10's to be crazy loud and sound good doing it but the Rev410 is a different animal!

My buddy has a XSTAR with a Rev410 on a JL MHD750/1 and 4 XS650's in the stock MC cans on a JL MHD600/4 (which I don't think do anything at all with the Rev410 playing) and his tower seems to be a little louder than mine, though I like the way mine sounds better. 2 Rev410's would be stupid loud!

I emailed Tim to see where he is on the development of the brackets for the 2 Rev410's. I'm hoping they may tuck up a little higher than the outside Rev10's. I'm also hoping that they may not be as brutal to the people riding in the back of the boat as my Rev10's are now.

Yes I have been accused of that as well

How did you get 1500W RMS? That is crazy power! Yeah, the Rev410 replaced the Pro485s. That is one thing that I am going to miss about my old tower. The two Pro485s sat about 5 feet directly above the head of the back seat passengers. I could turn it up, but it did blast anybody out in the back of the boat. I can see where the speakers now sit, the people in the back seat will need to be issued hearing plugs. (unless, of course, they are a teenager!) The other thing that I will miss is that due to the 485s being off-axis and the bend of my tower, you could hear the speakers clearly in the middle and on both sides of the boat.

I wasn't saying that the Rev 10s are louder than the 410s. I too want to go to 410s when Tim gets the bracket ready. I meant they are louder than 2 485s IMHO.
