Wanting to add 2 tower speakers to z3

Bought our new z3 a little over a month ago, and the mod bug has already bitten. The boat we ended up buying only had 2 rev10's installed from the factory. When I asked our local dealer about adding 2 more 10's or even 8's, he said the only way they could get them to match the 10's we already have would be to order them directly from tige. The covers on ours are white with a red ring around the front which I really don't even care for so much. Strangely enough, the color doesn't seem to be the problem. According to the dealer, the only way to get the "sleeve" or "adapter" to attach the speaker to the alpha z tower, is to order them from tige. Is this the case, because those little adapters are almost $100 each from what they said.

Well, those collars are only decorative and are not sold separately, so if you want the new pair to have a seamless transition to the tower as the existing pair, then yes, you will be getting the speaker from Tige through your Tige dealer. other then the decorative collar, there is no difference between the speakers that come from Tige and the ones we Wet Sounds dealers order.

Well that sucks. I really don't want 2 speakers with collars, & 2 without. I also would prefer solid black housings since the tower is black & the white speaker housings stand out like a sore thumb. In hind-sight, I probably should've ordered a boat the way I wanted it instead of being impatient & taking the only one they had left.

I'd get black ones and skip the collars. You don't need those collars to attach them to the tower.

Take the Tige collars off. They are just sandwiched between the speaker pod and tower. The original ones are paintable also.

I really like the way the collars blend the speaker into the tower. I know a few good machinists. May take one off & see if they can cnc me a couple more. If they cost as much as I was quoted, I can have them made for less than half of what tige wants.
