If my only choice right now is to have (6) xs-650 speakers, and i properly power them, will they get loud and really thump for my system if properly powered, speaking of which, how much power can these guys really handle, better than 100wrms like the spec says? will they be able to play very loud?

Yes but with some context. The harder you drive a small speaker, then you have to compromise at the tuning frequency. For a pair or two on a tower, I would hesitate to drive them with 150-175, even though 100-125 watts rms is solid power. On a tower, I would cross them over higher as most would drive them harder. For an in-boat will a little more moderate power, we can cross them over lower with out fear of over driving them. This would yield lower mid-bass, but it might sacrifice some of the top-end volume.
For in an in-boat speakers, the washtub effect (credit David) really increase the perception of volume. 4-6 spot-on powered in-boats are going to be loud. With the XS-650 driven at its 125W rms, it would take nearly double the power to really get a seat of the pants increase. More power would equal added head-room, so the amp doesnt have to work as hard, but im not sure you would bet the return on the amplifier investment it would take to
So, your 4-6 XS-650 as in-boats, 100-125 watts RMS like form the Syn-4 or 110 x 6 watts rms from the new HT-6 are ideal.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More
