I placed my order today for 3 pair of wetsounds xs-650s and a syn 4. I thought about pulling some new and bigger speaker wire. The old clarions haven't worked since I bought yhe boat and the ones that did got unplugged cuz they sounded like crap. It prolly is 30 gauge that's in it right now. They had splices pieced togeather behind the cooler going to the tower so who knows how they did the in boats. I just want to have everything ready to go where its a simple install ( if there is such a thing) for when they do get here. If that means running all new wire than I will? I would think I could tie onto each one individually and use the old speaker wire to pull the new. Shouldn't b to bad. Any advice on this being beneficial or a waste? Thanks

Yes, but mainly do to the age. Moisture has a way of wicking down the insulation and causing corrosion which increases the resistance of the wire. Also, you may not have much luck using the old wire to pull in the new. Its probably taped or wire-tied many times along its path. I typically just cut/tape the back and lay in the new and wire-tie it as i go.
