    Sub Install Help!

I just purchased a 21i and can already tell I need a little umph in the speaker department. I have a sub enclosure and amp from my previous boat.

My question is, I have the head unit on the left side and the battery in front of the helm on the right with the wires running under the floor board. What is the safest / easiest way to put power to the amp? I cannot imagine trying to get the wire under the floor.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Its not too hard to run wire through the bilge from the starboard mid-ship locker where the batteries are to the port locker on that boat. You can also mount the amp in the starboard locker, but you would still need to run an RCA cable and remote turn-on wire.

The holes where the wires are run are carpeted up pretty good, ill have to peel them away and see what I can do.

Can you recommend the most proficient way to power? Can I run the power to the battery with a in line just in case fuse? And for the ground, can I ground it to a battery bank? I want to do it right the first time so when I continue to add on everything is done correctly

Having circuit protection in the form of either a fuse or a breaker (my preference in a boat) on the amp's B+ is a must. And yes, the amps GND needs to go to the battery's GND post.

Gauge (wire size) and circuit protection will be determined by the amp potential load. If you think you will be adding amps to the system later, now is the time to plan ahead.
