    Cockpit speakers & sub dead.......

2004 22V Ltd has the Clarion head unit w/ Clarion amp and sub at drivers feet, all factory installed, I believe, since I am second owner. Sub and all cockpit speakers are dead but the two bow speakers have sound. Could it just be a fuse issue somewhere or something else? Amp has power. I do remember them cutting out once or twice at the end of last season but came back on. Not working at all now. Any ideas????

Sounds to me that the pair in the bow is driven off the head-unit and thats why they still work.

So the amp has some sort of power light on? WHat color is it? With some amps, the power light will change color to indicate an issue.

Also, check the RCA cables at the amp and head-unit.

i have had a similar problem before with the same head unit, try this:

locate the button "t" on the front of the display
      hold down the "t" button
      the display will change
use the up and down arrows until you see rear
select rear and see what happens

Hope that works for you, good luck

If they are toast... I replaced mine with JL MX650's. The sound is amazing and you can get them low budget off of onlinecarstereo.com... But wetsounds are pretty BA and there might be a guy on here that can help you out! Best of luck!

Looks like amp is not powering up. Checked all connections and they are good. Pulled the 32v in-line fuse and will replace but doesn't look blown. Hopefully that is it but otherwise amp may be toast.......

Poked around some more and found another fuse on the amp and wiggled it around and the amp powered up. Looks like it was corroding and not getting a good connection. Working again.

You may also check your battery charge. When it gets low the high power amps will cut off.
