Question about syn6,
Is is 2 ohm stable?? Doesn't say that it isn't in the manual. I am currently running the amp by itself for the 6 in boat speakers on my RZ2. I'm wondering if anyone has run the 4 channels at 2 ohms (manual rates rms power at 110 watts), and then channels 5 and 6 at 4 ohms (155 watts rms according to manual). Has anyone attempted this? Comments?? Thanks.... Oh ya, pics of the latest install to come.

Yes, the Syn-6 is 2 ohm stable on all chnls and bridgeable with a 4 ohm load on all chnls

Stereo @ 4 Ohms 60 x 4 watts and 155 x 2 watts RMS
Stereo @ 2 Ohms 105 x 4 watts and 305 x 2 watts RMS
Mono @ 4 Ohms 200 x 2 watts and 600 x 1 watts RMS

We run the one in my brother's boat at 4 ohms mono to take full advantage of it. It's a beast of an amp.

Thanks for the responses guys. I am currently running the amp as true stereo 4 ohm load. For me to have channels 1+2, 3+4 at 2 ohms, would I bridge them together left and right?

Just to clarify, stereo is about having a dedicated left and right signal and not whether the amp chnl is running a 2 or 4 ohm load. Mono means we have summed the signal. Mono is common with sub setups and tower setups, but we can still run a stereo setup in the cabin. Its just a matter of how we configure the speakers on the amp's chnl and how we configure the signal inputs(s)

Now for a couple of questions: Why do want chnls 1 and 2/3 and 4 @ 2 ohm and what are you looking to power off of them?

If its running 6 in-boats using all 6 chnls, then all chnls are running @ 4 ohm. 4 speakers are receiving 60W rms and 2 are receiving 155W rms.

The speaker is the load and its impedance (Ohms) is determined by its internal construction. The only way to achieve a 2 ohm load at the amp, would be to wire a 2nd speaker in parallel to each chnl. At that point, the chnl would see a 2 ohm load and deliver the 2-ohm output. But, keep in mind that the 2 speakers will divide that total output. On most amps, and as will the Syn-6, it equals a net reduction to each speaker. But in this case, that drop would not be an audible decrease. Example: The Syn-6 = 105W rms x 4 @ 2 Ohms. With two speakers wired together, they would divide that available 105W and each would receive 52W.

Im guessing you are after more power for a louder system?
A) Rewire the amp with the 4 main cabin speaker on chnls 5 and 6 and bridge the bow set on chnls 1/2 and 3/4. This would give you 150 to the 4 main cabin and 200W to the bow. This would be pushing the bow to the limits, so discipline needs to be taken with tuning and the volume knob.

B) Swap the Syn-6 for a Syn-4. This would net you 100-125 watts to your in-boat setup. This would be a noticeable increase
