Tower Speaker Help

These speakers were included with the boat when we bought it and I am struggling to figure out what exactly I have. Take a look at the attached picture. I know they are Fusion tower speakers, and I am pretty sure that is the Wet Sounds Syn Micro. I think the speakers are around 60W, but the amp is capable of up to 125W per speaker. I have heard that you can just keep the cans of the tower speakers and replace the speaker itself. Is this case? If so, what speakers would you recommend I replace it with? It really wasn't loud at all, I couldn't even hear the music full blast while I was wake boarding...

1st) Pull the mesh grill and remove one speaker. It should have a sticker on the magnet with make and model.

2nd) The Syn Micro delivers 75 x 2 @ 4 ohm and 125 watts x 2 @ 2 ohm. This means 75 watts to a pair of 4 ohm speakers or 62 watts if you ran 2 pair.

3rd)To refit the cans, we would need to know what the ID of the opening is.

4th) to hear a traditional coax based in-boat speaker at wake board range, you would have to have 4 pair and a ton of power.

What you have is the making of a decent surf/party-cove setup. For wake boarding you need to look into some HLCD tower speakers.

Thanks for the advice! I will head out there soon and see exactly what speakers are in the cans. Do you think there is a decent set of HLCD speakers that will match up to the amp that I have? It seems like the Pro 60's would require more power...

To make the most of the investment, every HLCD deserves goo strong power. 75 watts rms will not be enough to reach the wake-boarder.

Would you know how to remove the speaker from the casing? I have tried to turn the silver portion as if it were threaded but I just cannot remove it. Do you have any suggestions? It seems like I cannot pop the mesh grill out either...

Are there any screw heads visible on the back section? Ive seen one can design that had 4 long screws that ran the entire length of the pod and threaded into the front section, pinching the tubular section of the pod in between.

Unfortunately not... there are not any visible screws. I figured the entire silver portion was threaded on to the black can, but I cannot twist it off...
