With our getting into matching amp output to speaker/sub RMS, lets stick to application and configuration.
4 in-boats and a sub on a 5-chnl amp = good
2 towers and a sub on a 4-chnl = nothing wrong with this configuration.
here's is where I would start: I would look to exchange the IB under the helm with the M10W5. Get the W5 out of the closed locker and under the helm in an enclosure. It can be done as a side-loading, down-firing or direct-radiating install, depending on your boat. A sub in an enclosure will always trump an infinite-baffle sub, except when muffled in a locker. So, if you got the space and want to tackle the job, This will be an improvement.
This would also free up two chnls on the MTX. You could possible investigate bridging the towers. Keep in mind, I havent looked at power, just looking at configurations.
If you wanted to take the bass up a notch or two, pull both 10's and go with a 12" on a dedicated mono amp. This would leave the chnl 5 on the PDX unneeded. You could possible sell it or another 4 chnl and a mono. Just keep in mind that the max outside dimensions of the enclosure will be dictated by the under-helm space and shape. This will have a great deal of bearing on what sub you go with, thus the amp to drive it.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Thank's chpthril for the advice if i move the w5 over to the helm side can i install ib5 in the locker wall on the walk thru side? fyi I own a 2001 2100v limited edition. Due to the down turn in the economy and budget constraints issued by my wife I'm trying to get the best sound without spending.

1st) Even those these two subs are very similar, each is tuned and constructed differently since one is intended for IB, and the other for a more traditional enclosure.
2nd) we know that a sub in a box, radiating into the cockpit, will trump and infinite-baffle when powered similarly. So just by switching to a sub in an enclosure under the helm will be an improvement.
3rd) Having a sub muffled in an enclosure is like cutting its power supply in half. So just relocating, with the same power, will be an improvement.
4th) Im a little worried about having a sub under the helm and one firing in the walk-way. This may give you some phase cancellation.
So, im back to my original thoughts of doing with out the IB and executing the W5 un a box under the helm. This will cost nothing more then materials for the custom box and time. To test this theory, unplug the IB and just move the W5 to under the helm in the box its in now and extend the wires, Nothing permanent, just give it a listen and see.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Thanks again chpthril it's good to have a guy like you that is passionate about his work and helpful to fellow Tige owners. I have been sitting down here in Texas scratching my head for about three days over this, and reading everything i could find on www on subs etc. I'm gonna move the w5 to the helm, chunk the ib sub and head to the lake. there will always be a boat to pull up beside you and ripple the water, so i'm satified with what i have until next year!!!!! You ever get down around Texas give us a shout we hang out around the Trinity River, Lake Livingston area
