    Anyone painted Wetsounds tower speakers?

I am thinking about painting my REV10s red to match the Alpha Z tower. A few questions for anyone the has done this or has a thought:

    1. Is it worth doing? Will the paint adhere well or will it chip and flake off over time?
    2. Should I leave the front black and just paint the rear housing or is it worth it for the sake of looks to mask and paint it all?
    3. Has anyone done this and can post a pic? Red or otherwise?

    Thanks in advance!

I would email Tim twhite@wetsounds.com and ask him. He might be able to answer your questions and tell you if you need to prep them or use a special paint.

The housings are painted now. Full 2 step with base and clear.

Yes you can custom paint them for sure. Tige offers all sorts of custom colors when ordered with a boat including metal flakes and custom combos with different front baffles etc. They do this in house.

We also offer a custom color option as well direct from Wet Sounds and can do it in house.

So if done right it can work great. You can take a look at our facebook page and our gallery page, and also Tige's facebook page. All sorts of colored pics.

Since you want to paint the ones you already own. Best thing to do is find a good body shop. Do the prep work yourself and have them paint them. This will give you the best results and since you are doing the prep work. Shouldnt be too bad.

Take the speaker apart. And sand down the current paint. So you have a nice smooth roughed up surface. Then they would paint a light primer, base and clear. Bake at a low temp to cure.

The key is the prep work being done well and clean. And good paint and low temp cure.
