Interesting. Thanks for the recommendation, that would have to be cheaper than having some make a whole new part.

I still haven't figured it out. Went to multiple fiberglass guys, no luck. I have a sheet metal friend that said he might be able to help me. We are going to try and use a waterjet cutter to make the outer flange and use sheet metal to match the curvature of the part and just weld it to that flange.

If that doesn't work, I will probably just get a rectangular sheet metal box and just attached it from the back and it just won't have the outer flange to match... but at least it will be sturdy... if that makes sense.

I'll post a pic once I get the part made.

I have a friend at a local sheet metal shop and was able to get the part made for free. Now I just to put a carpet layer around the sheet metal, drill the screw holes out, and hope the flange matches up alright... overall I was pretty happy with how it turned out though.

The plan was speaker cabinet carpet, any other suggestions? I thought about getting it powder coated...

i would say some type of rhino liner since glove boxes get wet.

By rhino liner, are you referring to an epoxy type coating or an actual plastic lining?

I like the idea, just not sure if anyone around here would be able to do it. I'll see if I can find someone.

Or you can just use the undercoating made by 3M. Comes in a spray can.

                          Sweet!

Undercoat tends to be oil based. Nasty stuff and tends to rub off on whatever it touches. Take it to a bedliner shop and see what they'll do it for.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.
