Wiring a sub and full range speakers to same channel

Here's my question:
Can you wire a sub (bridged) to the same channel that is running 2 each 5" full range speakers using a coil as a low-pass cross-over and is it a good idea if you want to add a little more bass int he boat. I would also have to add a cap to the full ranges, I would think.

I would imagine by time you bought the crossover and cap, you could probably have a decent amp dedicated for the sub and then your single amp wouldn't have to work so hard.

Let's see what some of the pro's have to say though.

The short answer is yes, you can run a sub bridged on 2 chnls also runing a pair of mids.

IMO, its not worth the hassle to get it right.

if you have a 4 chnl amp running 2 pairs of identical mids, then put them all on 2 chnls so this frees up two for a 4 ohm sub. Other wise, get a full-range 2 chnl amp or a mono chnl amp to power the sub. Much easier to setup and tune
