New battery now stereo won't power up

I recently had to replace the hot wire connection to the alternator and also installed a new battery. Boat and everything else runs fine. Now the stereo won't even power up. I've checked all the fuses I can see and they all seem fine. Is there anything else I should be looking at? Kinda sucks out on the water without tunes.

I have 1 battery and everything else works

On my boat, there are two power wires for the radio
One is the main power this is connected to the perco switch and the other is the memory power wire that is connected directly to the battery. If either one of these wires was left off, the radio will not power on.

Last night I checked the wires leading to the deck and to the amp. All had power but the deck won't turn on. Is my deck blown? How do you blow a deck anyway, that's what the fuses are for. All fuses are fine.

Not only do they need "power" but they need a certain level of battery voltage. One often overlooked part of any 12V circuit is the ground. It takes 2 to tango.

What was the battery voltage at the amps and head-unit with a volt meter across the B+ and GND? Also, your head unit has a B+, usually a yellow wire, that is the a constant and MEM. In order for it to turn on, it needs to see 12v on the remote turn-on wire. This is usually a smaller red wire that is switched by either the key cylinder or a toggle. Sometimes, it gets tied right into the yellow MEM wire, so the head-unit power button is the main ON/OFF for the system.

Thanks for the advice however its not like I'm hooking or installing this system for the first time. Like i said before, the alternator hot wire had to be replaced and I installed a new battery. That's it. I hooked back up all tthe wires that were attached to it before. I never messed with the stereo or its wires. Just hooked them back up. As far as I'm concerned it should be just like it was before. But its not....grrr!
