I am in process of completing purchase of 04 22V limited off of boattrader. I haven't seen the boat in person yet, but a trusted friend of mine has inspected for me. Can anyone tell me what the stereo options are? The boat does not have tower speakers, but it has 6 speakers in the boat itself. Does the stock stereo have a way to hook up an ipod?

Your 04 probably came with Clarion in-boats and a Clarion XMD3 head-unit. If so, there is a set of AUX inputs on the back for an MP3 player.
Sky is the limit on what can do to the stereo as far as upgrades go.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

I'd like to put a sub in too. Any recommendations?
Are you looking to ripple water and kill fish, just fill in the missing tones that the in-boats are unable to reproduce, or something in the middle? Are you looking for a simple install or are you ready to tackle an in-depth project or have someone do the sub install for you?
There are lots of great sounding subs out there. The ones I use are, and in alphabetical order, Exile, Kicker and wet Sounds. Each have a unique sound, but the key is execution of the install.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Yes, there can be 2 remotes, you just need a Y splitter for it and a long cable to run it to the back. I have on 04 22v with the Clarion XDM3 headunit, bought it in December. The 2 remotes are not working, and I have had a difficult time finding replacement remotes for the XMD3 headunit. I am close to just replacing the entire headunit.

Chpthrl set me up with Kicker 6-pack tower speakers and a 450.2amp. Could I have bought "something better"....probably,... but I have found my set up is absolutely perfect for what we wanted out of our stereo system, and at the price point I wanted to spend.
I have a inexpensive 10" Sony sub, I think the reg retail was only $100 but it sounds great. I am in no way a stereo connoisseur but I believe you don't have to spend top dollar to get good satisfactory sound out of your stereo.Life is good...

Also, the boat has a remote control at the helm, but I'd like to add one at the back of the boat. Can there be two remotes?
Kicker CVr104 and a ZX400.1 No enclosure needed, but would sound a little better in one.
Wet Sounds XS-10FA and Syn Micro. Again, no enclosure needed
Both these subs can be run in an infinite-baffle setup, meaning no sub box is needed. Simply cut a hole in the under-helm wall and mount the speaker through it.
If you want to tackle an enclosure, it would make the sub more responsive, resulting in a little better sound quality.
At this point, the kicker CVr is still an option, but I would really consider the Kicker KM10 and the DX300.2Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

The most important thing I learned was give everything the proper power and make sure to have the system properly tuned. I met a few folks this weekend that had huge expensive systems that sounded like crap. I don't know how to tune properly so I had to ask for help.

Thanks for all the input guys. The boat has CMD5 head unit with transom and helm remotes. It already had an MTX amp and sub. It sounds decent enough for now, but I appreciate the advice for upgrades in the future. One question about the CMD5: It has an iPod hookup, but the I can't change the song from the remotes or the head unit, and the song title doesn't show on screen. It sounds good though. I'm using an iPod nano. Is it possible the ipod is too new to communicate properly with the deck?

Sweet, thanks! I may take you up on that offer...
