    Something brewing @ Kicker

Looks like Kicker has something new in the works.....From thier Facebook page on Friday: http://www.facebook.com/KICKERaudio?ref=nf

    KICKER
Let’s go all “Oprah” on this subject and talk about our feelings together..

Would all the boat/UTV/ATV/hotrod/golf cart/farm tractor/lawn mowing guys out there be stoked to have a ridiculous sound system that was super easy to install?
    Cant wait to see

Finally got some info, so I wanted to share. One of these will deffinitely be going on the display.

Kicker PXi50.2 Amplified controller for iPod is exactly what you describe. It is an iPod controller with a small simple remote control, 25X2 RMS power at 2-ohms, (i.e. will run two pairs of speakers). The "brains" box mounts remotely, and you mount the remote where it is easy to reach. Mount your iPhone wherever you choose. The PXi50.2, an iPhone and a pair or two of speakers and you have a stereo. 2.5V line outs and remote turn-on leads mena this thing will drive big amplified systems too.

1 amp fast charging so you know when you are connected your iPhone stays topped off.

Two modes, locked and unlocked. In locled mode, all control is from remote keypad. Hit the power button and in unlocked mode, track, artist, playlist control goes to the phone.

The remote has volume control, track up and down, playlist up and down, power/mode and random. the randomizer will random play within playlist or within the whole iPhone/iPod depending on playlist function.

Ignition-controlled pause; turn the boat off, and the iPhone pauses. Crank it up and it resumes playing.

      Simple simple simple...

Stay tuned, we are just now showing it at the IBEX boat builders show but it is shipping in about two weeks. Real deal.... I would provide a pic, but I cannot upload pics right now. Be watching for press releases.

I do but I can't share. Give me two weeks when we pin down pricing.

Does this connect to any head unit to run more than 2 speakers?

Here is a YouTube video of an installation on one of our company lawn mowers

                  Rushin-
You can use the build in power, (25x2 @ 2-ohms) for a simple system, or you can use the 2.5-volt line level preamplifier outputs to either connect to the aux in of a head unit as you ask, or better yet use it directly to drive your amplifiers in your stereo. It has the ability to drive your amps just like a head unit.

Pretty cool. However unless I am missing something I do not see the advantage this has to the boating community with the multiple amp set-up's.

Ahh, got it. Aux input. sorry

Huh? I may not understand. There is no advantage per se; it acts just like a stereo on the output side. It is different in that it uses your iPhone for all music, the way many people use their steros these days.

It has RCA outputs just like a regular stereo, except there is a single set of RCA outputs instead of front / rear. Most guys want zone control these days that is quicker than drilling down to the fader control so we make the ZXM-RLC which can be used. You can drive multiple amps directly with the PXi50.2 and have everything go up and down in volume together, (the way many people run their stereos) or you can add on the ZXM-RLC zone control to control in-boat speakers/amps separate from towers.

The PXi50.2 is an answer for the guys who just want to use their iPod or iPhone to run their stereo without having to have a head unit. It charges the iPhone and uses the fixed line outs from the iPod/iPhone instead of the headphone outs. Charging, control, audio quality... that is what sets it apart.

If you have a head-unit, run the PXi50.2 into the H/U's AUX. From there, the amps are signaled just as they are currently.

For those without head-units, then you could split the RCA outputs for multiple amps. Or, run that single RCA output to something like the Kicker ZXM-RLC Dual Zone Controller or EQ.

                          Thanks Phil.

So, a boat that has a head unit with multiple amps and a RCA aux input can be conected to the PXi50.2 via the RCA's and the ipod can be controlled through the remote?

Got it again. Mike, you were on it at the same time.

Great, need another place to mount a remote.

How long before the remote has a display.

Display really not needed. Remind me tomorrow and I will get a link and instructions posted how you can insert an ID .WAV file at the front of every playlist. No need to see anything...
