    Subwoofer Troubleshooting

Looking for help troubleshooting a subwoofer issue.

I have a factory 2009 RZ4 premium sound package or whatever it was called...WetSounds WS6 and WS2/4 (don't remember) amps, 1 sub, 2 tower speakers, and cabin speakers. Haven't messed with anything.

I get nothing from the subwoofer.

Any better suggestions than taking a junk speaker & speaker cable down to rule out a problem with the subwoofer and/or existing factory wiring? Channel 5/6 wouldn't just give out on the amp, right?

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Same thing happened to me this year. Before you take things apart and send the amp back etc... Like I did check and make sure your batteries are charged and holding a charge. The stereo may play like mine did but once I changed out the batteries, it all worked good. You can take a good battery and temporarily switch it out to check it.

    Good luck

Also, trace the wire from the sub and see if you can find somewhere where it may be broken/pinched. You can also test this out by pulling the wire out of the amp and using a 9 volt battery and touch the wires to the terminals and see if the sub moves. If it moves, your wire and sub are probably good so then hook it to a different channel and see if it plays.
