    AMP RMS

When a apm says its 250 x 2 at 14.4 volts is this the rms or peak output of the amp?

    #2
Could be peak or RMS. Usually, if its RMS, it states RMS. Also, that could be the 2 Ohm or 4 Ohm spec.

Now, if you are speaking about the Kicker IX500.4 you got, then yes, it delivers 250 watts RMS when wired in bridge-mode with a 4 Ohm load: 250W x 2.

Actually I swapped the IX500.4 for a 500.2 , a little easier running one amp rather than two. So the IX 500.2 is 250x2 at 2ohms.Is that RMS?

yes, the IX500.2 will do 250W RMS on each chnl with a 2 ohm load and 125W rms x 2 with a 4 ohm load.

So if yur running the "6-Pack", you will get 250 per side for a total of 500 watts rms to the tower setup.

Yes i am running the six pack with the 500.2 for power. I might have to go ahead and upgarde to to IX 500.4's. sounds good but seems like they need more power. THANKS AGAIN CHPTRIL
