Unless these things are pure junk I'm thinking a guy can't really go wrong for $150...can he?

I don't know anything about the Infinity. But, if you are looking for tower speakers at less cost than HLCD options, I have heard very good things about the Kicker KMT6. Like all tower speakers, just make sure that they are powered sufficiently.

FYI - if you do purchase Kicker products, make sure that you buy them from an authorized retailer (many ebay sellers are not). That way, if anything does go wrong with them, Kicker will take care of you with warranty repair. Mike's Liquid Audio (chpthril here on TO) is an authorized retailer.

        Knotts,

What are your goals i.e. reaching out to the wake boarder, surfing/party scene, both?

For wakeboarding, the KMT6 will smoke the Infinity when powered at the manf rated power. I do no say that because i am a kicker dealer, I say that because it is a fact. The Kicker is a horn setup, designed to project. The infinity is just a pair of coax based in-boat speakers.

For surfing/party-cove type listening, with careful tuning, the KTM6 will still sound good because you have 2 6.5 mid-bass woofers flanking each horn.

Not sure what your budget it, but take a look at the all new KMT60 tower setup from Kicker. The completely reworked the KTM6 and the look is sweet.

For a really impressive wake-board and surf/party setup, check out the KM6500.2 HLCD tower setup. These will really take some power and the mid-bass is unreal when the extra mids are add in for what I call the "6-Pack". They come as raw drivers, so pods would be needed.

Bottom line, lots af great products out there, so get a listen to anything you can so you can see what your ears like as that's what counts.
