It Has Started: The MLA Kicker Bu II

After the planning started back last fall, and the boat was delayed in getting built, I was finally able to get the boat into the shop last night and get started.

Not going to give up all the details, but here is a little bit of what we're doing.
On the tower, will be going the KM6500.2 HLCD + the extra mids powered by a pair of IX500.4 Class-D amps. The Kicker "6-Pack" will be receiving 1000W RMS

In the cabin, we will be doing 3 pair of KM6200's and a pair of KM6250.2's, a pair of SKM10's tucked under the corner seats. And a single CompVx-10 under the helm in ported enclosure.

There will also be some LED lighting and few other surprises yet to be released

Here are a few teaser shots: Boat came with the basic head-unit and 4 speakers + rear and transom remotes.

More to come as we progress.

How do you keep the water out of the subs under the corner seats? Maybe I am not looking at the right thing, but they would get soaked in my boat, I think.

On a side note...why does Malibu carpet EVERYTHING!?!?!

On the last boat there was not a problem with getting water in the subs under the seats. The only time I remember any was after a heavy rain while trailering - It was fun watching it clear itself out playing a few tunes. The boat has a center walk over, so most going in and out of the water use it.

Timmy, I may not accurately answer your question about the carpet. I believe the seat frame is aluminum like it is around the motor box and pylon, so I understand covering that. I am glad that Malibu decided to offer optional snap-out carpet last year and removed if from the flooring of all the storage compartments.

It's not a Tige, but thanks for all the support on this project!

Here are a couple pictures of the boat - it's a black 2011 VLX with metallic silver accents. After Chptril is done the tower will not be naked!
