    Sub box size

If the sub box is just a tad smaller than the recommended size what would that do to the sound?

And if it was abit larger than the recommended??

Sealed boxes can be very forgiving. A little smaller then the target or a little smaller then the target volume is ok. Now, some subs will list a min and max sealed. On these, getting below or above that my too much can really be noticeable in the sound.

Too small and it very tight and punchy, like an overtightened drum. Too large and it will sound kinda muddy/sloppy. Too small, add a little poly-fill to dampen the the resonance. Too large, all you need to do is glue in some wood block to take up the extra volume.

You say that your enclosure .5 ft3 too small? As an example, if the recommended enclosure was 1.0 ft3, that 50% too small. That would definitely impact the sub.

I know we talked about it back last fall. What sub do you have and what amp is driving it? Also, what are the outside dimensions of your enclosure and what thickness material? Shape: wedge or square/rectangle?

          Hey Mike.

I was wrong on the number. Maybe I was thinking .05 or something, however the sub specs calls for 1.375 cu ft.
The calculater I used ( http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp ) says the wedge box I have is 1.3623 cu ft

          Width 17"
          Height1 14.5
          Height2 11
          depth 15"
          3/4"

Agreed. The woofer specs can deviate from woofer to woofer more than that. YOu are golden, now get the thing installed!
