Checking speakers

I am in the process of hooking up my amps and I have 2 sets of speaker wires not label. And I am not sure which is left and right.

Is there a super easy way to determine which set of wires is for which speaker.

Touch the speakers momentarily to a 9V battery and the speaker will pop. Now you know which one is on that wire.

I thought I heard that from someone but I didn't know if I should try it or not.
