Thanks very much guys. The hardest part so far is trying to aim the speakers properly because of the huge arc in the tower bar. I kind of want to locktite the 3 bolts that come throught the top of the housing of the pod so I just want to make sure its in the right spot. I suppose next is to drill the holes of the wire and the snap bushings, run wire to all the speakers and then install the chromed expandable loom, wire pants, and banana connectors.
A straight bar across top sure would have been alot easier and it would have allowed me to maybe consider different pods.

We'll its pretty hard to get motivated to work on the boat when a couple of blizzards blown in with sub zero temp's. Spring weather has hit yet, and I havent filled my propane tanks again for my heater....however I did get a chance last weekend to wire up the speaker pods.
1. Once I had the speaker wire run I figured I'd try out some chromed expandable loom. It Doesn't look too bad..I think. I used some dual wall shrink tube to keep the loom tight and also to prevent the loom and the wire from sliding out of the plastic bushing.
2. Next was to put the cable pants on. I did find it dificult to find an exact size. I am not convinced I am going to keep them though. Alternative I'm thinking is just using the chrome loom and shrink tube.
3. Banana type plugs went on. If you every decide to use these make sure you buy plugs that will accomodate multiple wires if neccessary. Because I have the KICKER SIX-PACK I have 2 set of wires going to to 2 speakers.

I am planning to install the speakers this weekend. With these pods I have found that I have had to look and adjust these a number of times to make sure they are as am properly. The bolts that have to be loosened are on the inside of the pod, so it was crucial to aim them correctly before the actual speakers go in. Otherwise I will have to take speaker out. In these pods there are 3 bolts that hold everything together. I would recommend using internal tooth locj washers. This way the pod will be tight and shouldn't turn or move out of alignment.
Speakers in this weekend, and hopefully I will pick the boat up from storage on Saturday. Then comes the fun part...mounting amps, installing batteries and wiring up all the KICKER amps, and stereo.
Until next time, this is Dave K.
