Wetsound Pro485 on top of tower???

Guys, I just bought this boat a month ago, and the few times I have been in and out cleaning (and just sitting!) - I keep hitting my head on the 485. Previous owner was 5'9", I am 6'1" - so I guess he never had an issue with it.

Question is - can I mount it above the tower? Would this cause any issues? Does anyone have pics of it (or any other speakers) mounted above the tower? Main reason I am wanting to do this is b/c I am going to order a new bimini from Tower Biminis, and want to get the bimini mounted as high on the tower as possible - so I can walk around. Thanks guys.

Get a bimini you have to duck under. That way you'll only hit your your head on it.

I'm not sure what the 485 weighs but, putting that weight above the mount would only cause more than normal stress on it. I'm sure Wetsounds would have the full answer for you though.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

we have customers that go upside down all the time. so no worries as far as the speaker going upside down. Really more of personal preference for the look of it. Now it could increase the load on the tower so just watch that if you do

Tim, thanks for responding. I assumed they could hold up to the reverse mounting, but it is good to here it from someone who knows. The reason mine hangs a little lower than usual is b/c the 04 Tige tower has cross bars that are in the exact location of the mounting clamps. The previous owner built a T pipe, then bolted it upside down to the plate in the center of the tower. This drops the speaker another 3-4 inches. Do you know if there is another mounting solution? It looks like the clamps are fixed to the speaker box and there is no moving their position.
