    New HT-6 Amp

We are getting ready to upgrade a system we did in the spring. The existing system consisted of: Syn-4 powering 2 pair SW-65 and SW-10FA. The original plan was to later add a pair of towers on the T-top, but the owner now feels they will be head-beaters, so he decided to just add more to in-boat system!

Upgrades include: HT-6 to replace the Syn-4 and install a pair of SW-808's in the gunwales left and right of the helm.

This is my first HT amp, so I was eager to get it out and look it over. Here is a shot to show its size. Super small footprint for a 6 chnl amp with this amount of power. End caps to cover the terminals for making a very clean install. Logo comes detached so it can be installed after the amp is mounted. It will attached in one of 4 orientations so its upright when the amp is mounted. I have also attached a pic of the 808 next to a 65 for a little perspective

Well, we finally got the Sea Pro back in for the Syn-4 to HT-6 upgrade and install the SW808's.

Lets start with the 808's......DAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! These are off the hook, and thats only with 110W rms! All I can say is that if some 808's are in your future build, skip the 10" sub and go right to a 12, cause you gonna need it! These are so dominant, that the SW-10FA we have is hardly noticeable now. You can tell its there and still contributing those bottom end notes, but its not nearly as dominant as it was with just the 2 pair of SW-65. The mid-bass is incredible. With the volume cranked, snare drum almost makes you blink its so crisp and clear. The upper ends are very strong, but not at all harsh. I give them a 10 out 10

I don't think the 808's will fit in our factory locations. I just cut holes for 650's in mine a few weeks ago and there isn't much extra room in the factory location. Would love to hear some though, I think they are the way to go so you can get that mid bass.

For boats where the 80-8 would not fit width or depth wise in an existing OEM location, then I would consider just adding a pair to the existing system in a non-OEM spot. Their contribution would be substantial.

They would definitely fit in the panel that covers the floor hatch under the rear seat.

if depth is the problem, use white HDPE ring or an acrylic ring with LEDs to space it out.

WHEN I WAS LOOKING AT THE WETSOUNDS 808 SPEAKERS IT SAID SOMETHING ABOUT THESE SPEAKERS ARE DESIGNED FOR BIGGER BOATS THAT CAN ACCEPT THE LARGER FOOTPRINT DRIVER.

Yes, the 808 is nearly 9" wide and has a mounting depth of 3.7". This is a big speaker, so not many smaller boats will have room to accommodate them.
