Best amp for kicker 6500.2 tower speakers

I'm sold on the kicker 6500.2 tower system. I'm starting with the 4 speaker setup (2 horns and 2 mids) if needed ill add the additional 2 mids (km6500). What is the best kicker amp to power this setup? I am looking at the zm350.4 bridged at 4 ohms will send 175 watts to each side and if I decide to add the km6500 I will power those with a zm450.2 4 ohm stereo should send 120watts to each side. What do you think?

Why not the 450.2 from the start and then if you upgrade, it will power it all.

Not sure if I will upgrade and if I don't the 450.2 will only send 120 watts to each side(4 ohm load). CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG but I belive that each speaker will only see 60 watts. I would like to get full capacity to the speakers which would be 100 watts RMS to each speaker.

I think a 450.2 is 150w X 2 rms @ 4ohms and 225w x 2 @ 2ohms. I've heard the 450.2 on a pair of Wetsounds before and that amp gets busy!

The ZXM450.2 will do 150 watts rms to each KM6500.2 "pod", and that's only 25 less then the ZXM350.4 bridged.

2 things to note. The 25 watts RMS difference will not be audible in terms of volume. And the zxm350.4 will be running @ 2 ohm's (4 ohm in 2 chnl mode = 2 ohm per chnl) and as Scottie would say "i'm givin all she got, Captain"

The zxm350.4 will produce more heat and draw more current, but yet yield no clear benefit over the zxm450.2 and the zxm450.2 will give you the flexibility to upgrade later.

I'm not trying to talk you out of the zxm350.4, as I have not real hard feelings against using the 4chnl in this fashion. If you already had the zxm350.4, then I would say us it, but since you are starting from scratch, I would lean towards a 2chnl.

If you want more power, smaller footprint, less heat, lower power consumption, then go with the IX500.4. it will do 250 watts to each pod.

I hate to knock your kicker amp idea, however last summer I upgraded my components amp. I went with the JL M600/6. pretty damn awesome, and extremely tiny!

Small, yep

Low current draw class-D V's the Kicker zxm450.2 Class-AB, yep, but the Kicker IX500.4 is Class-D, small and more power.

IMO, @ $530.00 (V's $400 for the zxm450.2 or $350 for the zxm350.4), this 6 chnl amp is not the best use of equipment to just power a single set of tower speakers, unless you where going to use the last 2 chnls to drive a small 10" sub. For this, I would highly suggest a means to control the towers and subs volume independently.

Running the towers bridged with the amp in 3 chnl mode, would deliver 200 watts rms. That 50 watts over the zxm450.2 may get you a decibel more volume.

JL make some great amps, this model would just not be my first choice for a pair of HLCD tower speakers. Out of the JL stable, I would go with the MHD750.1

I like to suport my local businesses. With that being said I haven't spoke to my local dealer yet and customer service plays a big part on where my money goes. I am still gathering info before I go to the dealer. I like to get peoples opinion and not just go with what dealer recomends

I agree with buying from a reputable, authorized dealer (not just the cheapest charlie on e-bay). Just FYI - chpthril is an authorized Kicker dealer, and he has a pretty good rep on here.
