    ACC switch after Perko

My boat had only one battery. From that battery was a very simply Positive lead and a Negative lead.

I added a second battery and a Perko switch. I simply took the Positive lead off the battery and fixed it to the "common" lead on the Perko. I then added a new lead from that battery and ran it to the #1 lug on the Perko.
I installed my second battery and ran that positive lead to the #2 lug on the Perko.

Now, the ACC switch only turns on if the Perko is in the #1 or the "All" position. If it's in the #2 position, the ACC switch won't turn on... How can this be?

The boat ground runs to the #1 battery and the second battery ground runs to the #1 battery ground. So it's grounded properly as well.
    Waiting for another good one!

Does the ACC switch by chance also work with the Perko in the "Off" position? If so, sounds like it's wired directly to the Batt-1. Just a quick thought though.

Nope it doesn't. As I said, nothing but the Red lead from the boat was tied to battery 1. That's why this is a bit odd to me.

Does everything else work on battery #2? Blower, starter, etc.
The luck is gone, the brain is shot, but the liquor we still got.

I never checked. I just went out this morning to look and sure enough, everything works on batt #2- even the ACC now!!!

Must have been a dirty contact in the Perko. I found it buried in garbage in my Mom's boyfriend's house and it was pretty dusty on the outside. I must have 'cleaned' the contacts by playing with it enough the last couple days!
          Waiting for another good one!

Or here's the other option. When I very first hooked up the Stereo, particularly the sub, I might have drain that #2 pretty low. I put that #2 on a trickle charger last night and I was testing it out. I left the charger on it and it got up to about 100% Then I made the sub hit pretty hard. With each hard hit, the charger gauge would fall about 5% until I got down to around 80% so I stopped. I got one hungry sub...

If every thing is wired correctly, a low battery would be the only logical answer for the ACC to only work on Batt-1 or ALL.

Well on the volt meter it read about 12.1 volts. A little low yea, but should be enough to turn on the amps and EQ... I know contacts can get pretty corroded if they sit for a few months let alone a few years...
But it works now and I won't fret too much about playing the stereo today. I was always worried yesterday as I kept it on "all" all day and let the boat idle quite a bit.
