My boat had only one battery. From that battery was a very simply Positive lead and a Negative lead.
I added a second battery and a Perko switch. I simply took the Positive lead off the battery and fixed it to the "common" lead on the Perko. I then added a new lead from that battery and ran it to the #1 lug on the Perko.
I installed my second battery and ran that positive lead to the #2 lug on the Perko.
Now, the ACC switch only turns on if the Perko is in the #1 or the "All" position. If it's in the #2 position, the ACC switch won't turn on... How can this be?
The boat ground runs to the #1 battery and the second battery ground runs to the #1 battery ground. So it's grounded properly as well.
