well it might not be so simple.....
first you need to make sure the alternator load does exceed the capabilities of the engine. that engine can only drive a certain size alternator before things become real squirrley.then you need to be sure the pulley dimensions/mounting/electrical connector a same so you can plug right in stock harness.

this of course asks the question...why do u think u need a bigger one in the first place? what boat/engine is this for?

It is far cheaper, easier and more practical to build a stand-alon battery bank and recharge it with a shore charger, then it is to install an alternator that will recharge a depleted battery bank.

as noted above, why the need for 150-200 amp alt?

I'm assuming you have a Merc. The biggest alternator you can get is a 95 amp...trust me, it's plenty. Mine recharges even the most run down battery in a very short period of time.

I strongly suggest getting a simple to install, fool proof onboard charger. This year I installed the promariner procharger 20 amp 2 bank charger. They are not that expensive and very easy to install. I have a 3 battery setup and my batts are charged quickly and maintained safely. Worth every penny IMO and will be easier on you and your boat than swapping out an alt.

If you insist on getting a new alt, check out DB Electrical. They are easy to deal with and they stand behind their products.

            Good luck.
