    Age old speaker Q.

I am trying to work through which speakers to put on my tower. while the cost is certainly a concern, I do want to stay higher quality. My last boat had 2 Pro 80's and I am kind of scared to step down too much.

    WHATS YOU OPINION?

    Heres my choices:

    1. 4 Wet Sounds Pro 60's about $1500 can
    2. 4 Exiles $1700 US
    3. 2 Kickers 4500.2 and 1 pr 4500 plus pods $750ish US
    4. 4 Wet Sounds XST 650 $-?

Each manufacturer has great speakers from the sounds of things. I do however really like the Exiles just because of the hidden wires, Very clean looking but lots of $'s. However the Kicker and XST650's set up is less $'s but I am kind of concerned it wont be loud enough 80 feet back?

    Any feedback
    Thkx

I have the 4 Wet Sounds Pro 60's and they sound awesome. I really can't comment about the other speakers. I had some Kickers on my last boat and wasn't overly impressed. I think they were the cheap variety though. Good luck.

I loved the 80s but I thought because the tower is so tall it would look better with 4 speakers rather than 2.

My goal certainly is not to take a step backwards. I also want the tunes to make it to the rider. I am just trying to figure out if I can go with 4 speakers and still get close to the same quality while still staying within a reasonable price.

OK. 4 PRO 60's is going to ROCK. Another option would be if you want a good combo of tunes for wake surfing and wakeboarding. You could always for with the Double UP. Which is the combo of MB-8 and PRO 60. So gives the staggered look.

He mentioned cost being a concern so I think the budget would be why the
3-Some is not part of his list

                Dave-

The Kicker KM6500.2 is a system you need to try to go listen to. The fully develpoed tractrix horn flare and the sealed cone neodymium-motor midrange drivers deliver sound levels that far exceed expectations. When you go with the "6-pack" you take it up a notch for sure. 6 dB specifically...

The KM6500.2's have an RMS power handling of 200 watts a channel, so they handle a lot of power. I am actually running the Kicker IX500.4 in bridge mode, (250 a side) on a pair of KM6500.2 speakers with no complaints from the speakers. They are efficient, but they like to be driven hard too...

As far as you concern about being able to hear them, the KM6500.2 is a true HLCD system, and has a rated efficiency of 94.5 dB 1W/1M which makes it one of the loudest tower systems available. The compression driver's crossover has a jumper that will adjust the output of the horn. With a single set of KM6500.2's the nominally flat jumper position is at the ZERO dB position. But for some guys, using the +6 db jumper position, (that horn setting you would use when you set up a 6-pack) give you more output from the horn, and results in a system response curve where the output rises with frequency... Some guys like the high frequencies hotter, and the KM6500.2 lets you do that.

Of the choices you mention, you are looking at quality product, from quality companies who will be here for you for the long run. You will not be disappointed with any of them. Tim and Brian are great guys, (hopefully they will say the same about me! ) and the companies they are involved with are top-notch. You will not go wrong with any of the choices you mention. Try to give yoursef an opportunity to listen to all of the choices, and see what your ears tell ya!

Good luck, and by all means, let us know!

Do you think I would have room for 6 single pods on the top bar? 4 for the kicker components 4500.2 and 2 more for 2 4500's,

or should I look at the 4 pro 60's because of room

Although I cant specifically answer your question, I can add this, which may give you some perspective. 2 pair of pro60's will be wider then set (4 pods) of the Kicker Km6500.2's, but will not be ad wide a the Kicker "6-Pack".
