    Tower Speaker Boxes

It seems Wets Sounds, Kickers, Exiles, and other horn type speakers are the way to go for loud tunes to the rider.

    BUT....

Does anyone have, or tried some of the fiberglass tower boxes that hold 4-6 speakers, 6.5's or 6x9's. What's your opinion?? Wonder what the kickers KM 6500.2 and a set of 6500's would be like in this one?

How much are those? I would think the Kicker's would probably sound pretty good in there.

I bought the boat with a 6 6x9 setup from liquid trends. Not even close to a 485 up there. I have the box sitting in my garage, come and get it for free.

It's not the box that makes the speaker.

But...if you already have the box, I would imagine that loading the Kickers into the 6.5" box, or the WS 6x9 into that sized box, should sound pretty good.

Yes, as that's exactly what those systems are designed for. Those fiber glass enclosures loaded with 4-6 6.5's or 6x9's will not sound any better then the same speakers in individual cans.

The difference is that you don't have to buy 4 or 6 cans to put them in.

I certainly wouldnt consider the straight flat style box if I where to go with those. I would want alittle curve to it.

I am on the fence myself about it. The install Chpthrll did on the Malibu looks SUPER nice with the 6 cans, and I am leaning towards that set up!

That's true IF you already have the enclosure and it's loaded up with car audio coax speakers. Then it's an easy swap-out and amp upgrade and bam, you have an HLCD setup.

If one does not have an enclosure, then they can choose a speaker/enclosure setup or going with the drop-in HLCD's and sourcing their own cans. Options, options, options.
