    New sound setup

I have a 2004 22ve and am finally tired of the stock sound setup and looking to upgrade.
For in the boat I am thinking of going with wetsounds xs-650 and the xs-12 with the ws-420 but I am unsure of how to setup the tower. I have a samson edge tower with a pair of single samson speakers. So how I will mount the speaker is mostly the problem. I would like to get the wetsounds 3some but I dont see how I could mount it on the tower. I am wanting to be able to hear the music while I ride. Anyone have some ideas?

The Edge definitely makes it a challenge. I feel that you would have to either mod the tower or fab a mount for the Pro 485. Next obstacle would be to fit the pair of Pro80's in there. I would suggest looking at going with two pair of Pro80's or a pair of Pro80's and a pair of MB8's. This gives you some flexibility.

The WetSounds WS430 is real nice but from a cost perspective and setting up separate zones in the boat have you though about Kickers ZXMRLC at around $90

Here is a thread on it.

chpthril- what about replacing the speakers in the samson cans with something better and then just adding a pair of pro80's?

Moneypit- thanks I had not thought about the kicker, that might be a good alternative

Having anything next to a speaker like the Pro80 will be basically like a whisper on a scream IMO, unless its big and will take some power, especially if it's intended to contribute to what the rider hears. Now, for surfing or partying in or around the boat, another set of speakers can contribute the mix, but the Pro80 are still going to dominate. Also, you would be best suited to have them running on 2 different 2 chnl amps, reason being: It going to be hard to set up a 4 chnl amp that has enough wattage for the Pro80's with out smoking the 6.5's.

Now, if you were to come across another pair of the Samson cans, you could go with the Kicker KM6500.2 setup. These will give you great volume out to the rider as well as sweet sound for the party scene. Again, this would need to be a 4 can setup.

well think I am going to go with a pair of pro80 and a pair of mb8 since sounds like putting anything in the cans would just be a waste.
Chpthril what amps would you recommend for this setup?
              Thanks

I have a pair of Pro-80's powered by a Syn-2 and it is plenty of power.
I thought about a pair of MB's but spent the money on a foil.

For the 80's and 8's, you can do a single Wet Sounds Syn2 and each speaker will receive 175 watts. You can do a Syn6 - 200 Watts to each of the Pro80's and 155 to each of the MB8's or pair of Syn2's - each receive 200W's. I like the 2 amp or 4 chnl amp options the best as you have the ability to x-over the 80's and MB8's separately.
