    Where to put stereo

How is everyone doing tonight? I just bought a 1995 2002 FSLM and it does not have any stereo. I need to put one in and was wondering where others have put it. There doesn't seem to be a good spot on the dash. Do I just cut a hole in the glove box? Fab something up under the dash? Any suggestions and pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :-)

Congrats and welcome to the tigeowners site.

Hopefully those with that generation boat will chime in. In general, the glove box is an ideal location for the head-unit, especially if you go with a head-unit that allows for a remote. The remote can be mounted in the driver's console, so you do not have to keep reaching into the glove box for the basic functions. If you mount the unit in the driver's helm, a waterproof case/cover is a recommendation.

Thanks you for the welcoming and the response. I figure the glove box would be the best place, it's just that it's an old boat and they didn't give me a big box to work with. I'll let you guys know what I come up with.

I have a '94 2000slm comp, same boat as yours, but a closed bow. My head unit is mounted in the glove box. I put a remote in the panel on the lower right of the dash. I made a new panel to take the place of the slalom time panel. All my amps and sub are mounted in the bow. You do not have that luxury with your open bow.

By the way, all new Tige' owners are supposed to put up pics of thier boat.

Sorry I have been slacking with the pictures. The boat was in the water for the summer and I always forgot to bring the camera. So... Here are a few :-)
