    FM Antenna

Occasionally we like to listen to the radio (especially if the weather is looking ominous), however the reception on our '10 CMD6 gets hardly any FM channels compared to our '06 with a CMD4 (neither get any AM). I'm assuming its some sort of change to the antenna...or lack thereof. I'm thinking about buying a antenna to place in the compartment-has anyone used one that works well? I've seen a few that are meant to be "hidden" - also thought about trying a whip style in the compartment, or a small glass mounted one.

    Any Suggestions?

I have used a rubber whip with decent success, but the best one I have had luck with looked like a 75-ohm t-style antenna witha motorolla end on it. In that case, it was just tied up in under the gunwales.

I have also had good success taking a spare antenna wire, stripping about 6' off of the end exposing the copper center conductor, and then laying it in the bilge. Someone mentioned the water around and outside acting as a reflector, and I do not know fi that was scientific or not, (I am not good wit antenna theory) but hey, it worked.
    It's not an optical illusion.
    It just looks like one.....

I would make sure its fully seated in the back of the head-unit. If so, then I would pull it out of the loom its wrapped up in and relocate it and see.
