First check the Ipod compatibility list. Next thing I would recommend would be to relocate the small red remote turn-on wire for the head-unit from the ACC terminal of the key switch to a rocker switch. This way the system doesn't power down when the engine is turned off and then the key is turned to the ACC position and powered back up.

      Thank you.
i checked the compatibility list, and that should be good. Now what is the rocker switch?

Well, my gut tells me that your head-unit is wired to the key switch and is on in either the "Run" or "ACC" position. When you shut the engine off and turn the key counter-clockwise to the ACC position so you can still listen to the tunes, the head-unit is momentarily turned off then back on. This forced it to reconnect with the USB, AUX or SAT device. This could be contributing to your issue. I would recommend moving this little red wire to a rocker switch. This way, you can turn the stereo on and will will stay on till you turn the rocker switch off. However, I do suggest using a rocker with an LED.

I smashed my head against the wall with this error as well. Before adding the switch, power your ipod down when the error comes up and then back up and see if the deck recognizes it. My deck would not recognize anything and I did this and now it recognizes all iphones/ipods etc.
