I searched the threads here but couldn't find an answer.
I just bought a "new" 2009 RZ2 but it did not come with tower speakers, it has the "premium" system which is just the clarion head unit and 4 in-boat speakers. I like the look of the factory speakers but I read here that the Samsons sound better and are a little cheaper. I know I am going to need an amp to drive them and I want to put a sub in the boat as well, here is what I am looking at:
Samson S7HD Speakers (just 1 pair, outboard locations)
Wetsounds Syn4 amp
Wetsounds XS-10FA
I don't want to win any bass contests, and I really don't care if I can hear the system while wakebaording, I just want a system that sounds pretty good when we anchor or raft up with friends. I will have a new baby soon and a 2 year old so I definitly won't be cranking it up that high.
Question #1, The samson are rated for 250 rms continuous and the sub is 500, this amp config will send 125 to the speakers and 400 to the sub. I have heard that too little power to the speakers is worse than too much, is the amp big enough to power this setup?
Questoin #2, Are there alternative product that will do the same, sound the same for a little less cash?
Question #3, Will I need to upgrade or add batteries on the boat to run this system at a conversation level for 4 hours or more?
Any tips, remarks or input is greatly appreciated.
