What does the "transom remote" do on my '08 22ve?

I can't find anything about what the "transom remote" does in the Tige owner's manual, and all I have is a hole in mine. I found a loose power/ground lead that could reach it, but no cable that would connect to the head unit. I *assume* it provides a similar control to the remote at the driver's station, but that's an assumption.

Thanks for any help, and have a good one,
    Mike

That is correct, the transom remote controls your head unit but often has fewer options/buttons. I have one by the steering wheel and one on the back of my boat by the swim deck. I did need to have a "Y" splitter in order to run both of my remotes to the head unit but they both work fine. Just make sure you order one that is compatible with your Head Unit. With Clarion, they connector out of the back of the Head Unit changed a while back so when I went from an old unit to a newer one, I had to get an adapter for it to communicate....just FYI.

Not similar, but would have been the exact same unit as the helm remote. Possible the Clarion MW1. The power and ground were to illuminate the display when the NAV/Anchor lights are on. Since the hole is there, its a good possibility that the original unit separated and someone just tossed it.
