    Volume on speakers not loud

    Hi All,

I have a 2009 tige 22ve with the original wetsounds speakers and Clarion CMD5 head unit. My tower speakers were blown so I changed my tower speakers for Wetsounds Rev 8. Everything works fine but the volume on the speakers is low, even when I crank it to the max on the head unit. I can barely hear the music when the boat is running. Does anyone know what could cause this?

    thank you!!

Lets set the word "blown" aside and describe the symptom you where experiencing that led to installing new speakers. And just to clarify, this low volume is ONLY with the tower speakers?

Low volume can be due to amp settings, head unit setting, failing amp or failing head unit. Unfortunately, low volume can be due to the tweeters in the new speakers being sent into protect mode or blown.

I removed the tower speakers since one had a lot of distortion so I bought two new ones.

The low volume is on all speakers, not just the tower speakers.

I’m not very familiar with terminology. What do you mean by: “Unfortunately, low volume can be due to the tweeters in the new speakers being sent into protect mode or blown”

      thanks!
