    2014 R20 Tower Speaker Install

    Hi everyone,

    First post for me here!

I have a 2014 R20 that did not come with any tower speakers. It's always been on my mind to install them but frankly I have no clue where to start. I've had a look at Wet Sounds and it seems to be a few grand for a set, although I imagine there is a lot more to it than just purchasing the units and installing them. I enjoy DIY projects but I've never dabbled in electrical. Hoping to get some advice from others that have also started with no tower speakers and what their process (& cost) looked like whether it was a DIY or if you went with a professional.

    Thanks!

If you are handy with basic tools and source the gear from the right place, it can be a DIY project. Wet Sounds does offer some expensive options, but not all are. So dont count them out yet. There are other options as well.

You will also need to add an amp to power them as well. If there currently is an amp in your system it likely is no where near powerful enough.

Running the wires through the r20 can be a bit of a pain with the dual hinge, so with no experience might be tricky. I would recommend getting some quotes from local marine audio shops and compare cost to just buying parts.
