    Rev8 to Rev10

    Hi all,
Looks like we've finally blown one of our original REV8 tower speakers on our 2011 RZ2.
The boat has the factory wet sounds Syn 2 and Syn 6 amps and just two REV8s on the tower.
In lieu of replacing one REV8 speaker, i'm wondering if the current amp is sufficient to power an upgrade to a pair of REV10s?

Taking it one step further, if I were to repair the REV8, is there room to hang both pairs on and Alpha Z tower? Thinking REV8s in the middle mounts and REV10s in the tower corner mounts so folks don't have to duck? Or do they have to be flipped? I'm expecting this to require another amp. What would be the recommended?
    Thanks!

I have 4 REV 10s on 2012 RZ4 Alpha Z Tower. I have the Samson swivel surf racks. I feel there is plenty of room. I am 5’11 tall. I have two JL Amps pushing 1 12 sub, 2 10 sub, 4 wake towers rev 10s, and 6 interior wet sound speakers

        Thanks for the responses!
Glad to see they will both fit! Although looks like I may have mis-judged what they are just by looks. They are definitely the originals and as you stated, the tweeter is aggressive for sure. Which actually made me want to tinker with the amp from the original factory settings, which I fully admit ... probably resulted in the blown speaker. They were just harsh at high volume. Curious, do I have to pull the driver to confirm its a Pro or Rev?

With that said, im inclined to start with a pair of REV10s and then add from there if they are insufficient. Although it sounds like ill be pretty content

Keep us informed, I love these threads that discuss this stuff. I have 2 pair of Rev 8’s with each pair driven from its own Syn 4. I’ve thought about swapping one pair with a pair of Rev 10’s, but can’t really justify except just because I want to. I think the 10’s on the outer mounts would work best. I accept a head-knocker as the price to pay.

Finally got around to replacing the speakers and sure enough chpthril was spot on. They were Pro 60s
Also taking the recommendation, im now sporting REV10s and what a difference in clarity and bass response. Riders can actually hear the music now and so can the family back on the dock lol. What a no brainer upgrade in hindsight.

Looks like the bad Pro 60 was corroded inside. Moving the cone it has a sandy feeling
I had the neoprene covers, wonder if that helped or hurt?

Only downside to the Rev10 install was i had to ditch the beauty collars. I contemplated reshaping them to match the Rev10, but felt it was just a waste of time.
Also noticed the factory had pinched the wires under the x-mount making them flat like a pancake. Amazed they still worked.

            Thanks for everyone's insights.
If anybody thinks any of these parts are worth posting in the classifieds let me know, maybe the collars, otherwise i'll probably just toss everything
            Cheers

If I change from rev8 to 10 do I need to swap my amp?

If its the OEM 2 channel amp, the answer is no. However, it will leave some untapped performance on the table.

The whole setup is OEM. I also want to try and get XM not really sure on that.
