    Is my WS-420 DEAD??

I just picked up the boat Fri. to clean and get ready for the first trip of the year and I'm already having problems.

As always, I took off the cover and flipped the switch for the stereo to set the mood and get some work done.....nothing! It seems as though the WS-420 is not sending a signal to the amps. I had the charger on the batteries all night to make sure everything was fully charged, power comes on to the 420, deck and all 3 amps, but no sound. I hooked up the ipod with an RCA/3.5mm cable directly to each of the amps and all speakers/sub played perfectly. I hooked the ipod back up to the 420 using the RCA instead of the Aux 3.5mm jack I usually use, and again nothing. It doesn't matter if I use Aux or Main, Tuner, CD or ipod....no combination works running through the 420. The leds light up on the 420 and all connections are corrosion free and tight. I haven't touched the 420 other than to change RCAs when I installed the new stereo and it has worked for 3+ seasons. Now for some reason it doesn't send a signal. I did take it apart and check the fuse inside as well as the inline fuse, a 2 amp and 1 amp respectively. The inside 2 amp is good and the inline 1 amp was bad, but I replace it. Funny thing is it keeps popping. I then checked all connections again as well as other connections to see if anything else was loose or grounding out, couldn't find anything. Everything else in the boat seems to work just fine.

Long story, I know, but I know the more questions I can answer off the bat will speed up the QA phase of this post. HA Any help is greatly appreciated before I pop $300 on a new one to find out there's a simple reset or fuse I'm missing. Thanks!!

Stock clarion, but even without having the head unit hooked up and using the main input on the 420 and the ipod with the RCA/3.5mm jack there is no signal.

Ok I am stumped also. If it was just from the head unit it could be the setting on the head unit. Is the aux/main setting on the WS 420 in the correct position
        Let it be!!!

SO, it popped another in-line? What size did you replace it with?

I've tried it in both positions on all settings (Tuner, CD and Aux) with no luck. The Main is for my head unit and used for Tuner and CD and the Aux is for the ipod via the 3.5mm male/male cable plugged into the Aux input. Stumped is the word of the day....along with a few select others!

I replaced it with the same 1 amp. But one I turned off all power and replaced with a new one again, then it didn't pop it...still didn't work...and after messing with it some more, it popped it again. I can't think of anything except an internal problem with the 420.
