    2020 wetsound system insight

New 2020 R23 stereo advice... the boat has the best wetsound stereo option and it sounds great BUT.. Here's the situation.. streaming through Bluetooth or through usb/aux ports the stereo's volume has to be at 90 or 95 to be loud but even then it's not like you have to scream to talk...

The other thing that's weird is that in your tige clear you can't adjust the treble or mid range just a bass volume.

Any insight on how to adjust or is this the best it's going to get?

Also, has anyone hooked up a satellite receiver to tige clear?? streaming is great but if you don't have a cell signal then no XM radio..

    I appreciate it!!

These components are not Wet Sounds. Also, not all blue tooth transmitters are created equal, nor are the AUX outputs. Keep in mind though, when using bluetooth, AUX or USB, your device's volume needs to be 80% at least. Also, I suggest turning the phones EQ to off or flat. This helps with sound quality.

The 2020 Tiges are back to using consumer adjustable amps. I would suspect that they are leaving the factory with a conservative tune. There could be room to turn the gains up, and gain some output. Caution though, gains are not volume dials.

What setup do you have? Rev8 or 10? 1 or 2 pair? 2019 and earlier do not have equalizer adjustments either.....

Thanks for the feedback and I'll look at the amp settings.....

So no way to attach a xm radio receiver to the tige clear unit?

How's the volume when listening to the radio? If it's significantly louder than when streaming with BT check the volume on your phone or BT connected device. I got bit by this recently when I was tuning my new tower speaker amp and was scratching my head why I had to turn my gains really high for BT listening.

The PDF I have for the Murphy ICE does not indicate a SAT plug input. It also references a 5-band QE

Well crap! I didn't even try and find a clear radio station but will do this week. If BT streaming is much lower power/volume than the radio then apple (Iphone 10) needs to step up because i'm having to be at 95% volume to be what i consider loud playing sirius xm app via BT.

chpthril - i looked the pdf up and you're right it does mention a 5 band QE but doesn't outline how to get to it. So the 2020's has the Murphy ice module?

I know streaming is big but i think tige missed the boat on excluding sirius xm compatibility because not every lake has cell service. I'm sure a cost thing..

              thanks again for feedback

Apple has been behind the times on BT. 9 of 10 BT complaints I get on range or volume, are from apple users.

The Murphy ICE (used by a number of manufactures from boat to tractors) is what was used in the past and have not heard of there being a change, so I presume the ICE is still what Tige is using. Ive never seen a real user manual, just the technical info PDF.

I find this odd. With my boat on the trailer hooked up to my truck I can stand on the swim deck and control what is being played in the truck...just barely. From there if I switch over to BT the boat will play nothing but static. Once I climb in and stand on the back seat it will start to play music, but with static. It's finally clear music a foot or two behind the captains seat. This is all with my older Iphone. Not sure which one I have. This tells me, at minimum, the Tige BT receiver is far inferior to the receiver Ram uses in their trucks. It's frustrating to me that I can't BT and use my phone at the back of the boat to take a picture of the surfer at the same time.

Hey, on an unrelated note, try a different app. I’ve noticed that my phone plays MUCH louder in Apple Music or Spotify then the SiriusXM app. It’s annoying as **** to be honest.

yeah i think when i played slacker it was a little louder but like most SiriusXM typically has great quality and the music is way better.. I agree on the annoying part that tige/other boat manufacturer forgot about XM receiver add on capabilities.. heck all the cars/home receivers have the option and my 2010 had the option.

my experience is with multiple blue tooth devices and different generations of apple and android based phone. I currently have 7 operational BT's on 2 demo displays. Wet Sounds 220BT, MC-2, MC-1, BT-VC, Kicker PX, Aquatic AV and a Metra rocker switch unit. Ive also used Fusion, Clarion Rockford.

Funny story. Had a client with his boat in the shop, so the BT was about 40' deep in the shop, as his boat was in the back. He was sure he had a BT receiver issue as when he laid his apple phone on the swim platform, it dropped out. I walked about 20' out of the bay door, before my phone dropped out.

At boat shows, ive people connect to my BT's and walk away to see the range. Always seems it the Apples that have the shortest range

Any chance someone can tell me how to get to the stereo EQ via the tige clear screen? When I go to settings it only has the different types of connections as an option.. Not an option to go to EQ.

I downloaded the operations manual for Infotainment Core Expansion™ module (ICE) Operations Manual and shows an eq and says go to settings but it doesn't match up to the tige clear screen
