2004 22IR Stereo Question

What is the model of the stock stereo in the 22IR Tige? And what is the easiest way to connect your IPOD?

Probably a Clarion, and could be either an XMD1 or XMD3. Need to check, but I dont think either has a set of AUX RCAs in the rear. So, either a head-unit change or an FM modulator type Ipod hookup.

yes, the XMD3 does have the AUX RCA's in the rear. I had that in my '04 and that is how I did it with the IPOD.

Thanks Rushin! I knew xmd1 didnt, but could remember if the xmd3 did.

If so, you can go with an inexpensive 3.3mm headphone to RCA cable or a remote mounted jack that uses a double-ended 3.5mm cable. I also have on order an Ipod specific cable that uses the data link on the bottom of the ipod and then has RCA's and a power and ground source for charging. They are currently not shipping, but should be soon.

here is a pic of what the remote jack will look like, less the USB socket. This can be mounted in the glovebox, or at the drivers side or transom with extension cables. You can install more then one with splitters, but only use one at a time.
