Add this to my groing list of questions: should I mount an amp to the storage wall or fab up an amp rack out of lexan and screw it to the floor? I am afraid of running a screw threw the wall into the walk through.
Here is a pic of a 20V install I did awhile back. Tige has a glassed in board that makes the walk-thru wall about 1-1/4" thick. This is just for mounting amps and accessories to, so no amp rack is needed unless you wanted to get a little wild and bling the install.

Is it there even if you had no amp from the factory?
Yes Sir!

That boat was ordered with no stereo, so it got a keel-up install. The time saved by removing the seat back, allowing access to the storage, was well worth the few minutes it took to find the screws/nuts holding it on. The drivers side was a lot harder because you have to reach through the little storage door, but there was a ballast tank in the way, making it really difficult.

This may be stupid but, can I build a box from lexan?
Sure, but it ain't cheap and will be harder then wood to do, but yes. Just back-lite it with some LED's

I have access to lexan scraps. I work with it all the time. Question: 1/2" or 1/4"?
.5 if it's just a small dimension. .75 if it's a large dimension.

Bought a used 700.5 for $175. Can't wait to get this hooked up. Gotta start rounding up cable, crimp connectors, distribution blocks, circuit breaker, and what am I forgetting. Worst part is my battery switch is on the oposite side of the boat. = long power cable run $$.

Set of RCA's.
Dont connect to the battery switch, you need to go directly to the battery. Does you 20V have the EIDB dual battery setup? If so, the "House" battery is the one under the seat behind the driver. It takes about 20ft, if I remember from the last one, to reach from that battery to the amp.
www.waytekwire.com will have the marine rated manual-reset circuit breaker that I like to use. The also have battery eyelets. I like to solder them on V's crimping. Part # 36462 is a tinned brass w/ 5/16" eyelet. You'll need at least a 90A breaker (part # 46782)and 4 ga wire if you are just going to power the zx700.5. If you're going to power more amps, then those will need to be taken into account for your choice of breaker rating and wire size.

My boat came with a single battery. I added a deep cycle behind the driver and moved the starting to the other side. I am using a blue sea acr. Future plans include tower speakers and another amp.
What gauge wire and breaker for say 1200 watts max. I don't think I would ever go over that.
That's about 96 amps. 1/0 if you are splitting off for 2 amps.
