I have a Clarion CMD4 (Sirius ready) and have spent several hours trying to figure out what I need to connect to Sirius. Can I get by with a Clarion SIR-CL3M Clarion Compatible SIRIUS Satellite Radio Tuner and an antenna or do I need a Sirius SCCI tuner with Clarion adapter plus antenna?

If something is "Sirius Ready" that means its capable of controlling a sirius device.
I believe your second option was correct. You will need the antenna, tuner, then interface connector.Common Sense is not so Common

You need a SIR-CL1 and SRA-25 antenna. I know this setup will work with the CMD4, Ive done a few.
