    Clarion I-pod adapter

    http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+CCA-iPod.html

Just picked up one of these and it works great. You can plug your i-pod into the cd changer input and control it through the radio or remote buttons. It even charges the i-pod while in use.

Just be careful with that cord, they were not designed to go into boats and the constant turning on/off of the ignition causes them to short out and when they short they can cause the main wiring harness to go out as well. As far as the Iphones, they do work, however you will get the feedback through the speakers as you are running a cell signal through the cord as well, unless you put it on airplane mode.

also, meangreen what do you mean short out, could that be part of my problem here: http://tigeowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10118 ??? The ipod adapter not working is what started the whole deal, then I unplugged both sirius and ipod, and when I plugged it back in, neither work

I'm not sure that the number of key cycles is causing the failure in the CCAIpods. In a given day/weekend, a boat WILL have far more key cycle then a car, in which the CCAIpod was first intended for, but in the over all life, a car will have far more key cycles then the avg boat. If the cable has failed, I would look at how/where the cable is run. Make sure it's not pulled too tight or making any tight bends. I see that Clarion has discontinued the original marine Cnet Ipod controller!

Either way, when I do/redo a system, I always like to get the stereo off the key and onto it's own switch. Mainly cause it sucks to have your tunes cut off and back on when you shut the boat off, but the Sirius take too long to reacquire after a power cycle.

Make the stereo seperate and you'll be GLAD you did.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Isn't there a dummy accessory switch on the '07+ boats that this could be switched over to?

Unless your boat is max'd out with all the options, there typically is an unused switch. Skiers choice uses a dedicated stereo switch for their stereos, it has a music symbol on it. You can buy the covers from them, separately, for a few buck and they fit pretty much any Carling switch body.

I called and spoke to Clarion before ordering because of the conflicting info. The 1st generation iphone will work, but they stated the 3g and 3gs will not. If you turn on the "airplane mode" then it will not work as a phone.
