I have been talking of upgrading the sound in my boat for a couple years. Last fall I picked up a threesome and syn 6 amp from wetsounds. Then earlier this spring got 6 new xs650,xs12 arc 900 amp, arc 300 amp, WS-420 and a polished FAE system from SPBFAN. I have been puttering with my install for about the last 60 days and now it is all complete and I just needed to show off. I am not a stereo guru, but witht he help of SPBFAN and the guys at wetsounds I now have a rocking new system. Here are the pics.
The threesome was first to go up, pulling new wire was a pain, also I relocated the lightbar to the front bar.
Here is a shot of the threesome with the FAE

After that little challenge I installed the 6 inboat speakers, no one had previously mentioned the existing speakers are 6" and the wetsounds are 6.5 ". I rotozipped some new holes and they went in fairly easey. Only one pic because they all look the same.
I then spent a night pulling all new wires to all inboat speaker locations along with new RCA cables back and forth from radio to ws-420 and amps. No pics because those areas are all hidden. I was able bury wire in gunwalls all the way around out of sight. Also pulled new 0 awg cables from batteries. Then came the install of the WS-420. I wanted it out of the way, but accessable here is the result.
After getting that together I figured I better get this thing to make some noise, so next came the amps install. I am 6'4" and no way to install these suckers in the storage area without being in there. I have a couple pics, but it is hard to get a good shot in there.
After getting them all hooked up it was great to turn the system on and have everything come on. I spent a night tuning and got it sounding pretty good in the garage. I was ready for the lake, without the sub. That came about a week ago, I wanted a ported box and didn't want to totally kill storage in front of dash, so I did some math and got 1.4 cubic feet with an irregular shape that is skinny by the door and get thicker to the side and also follows the angle of the side of the boat. It came together pretty well. I wanted to have it look good so stopped by Fred's Marine, the had a scrap of carpet they let me have. I LOVE THE GUYS AT FRED's. Side note for those along the wasatch front, I think Fred's will be the new Tige' dealer. They are working it out and should have boats in a couple days. Well that's another thread for another day. To install the box I pulled the carpet back from the existing 10" hole cut it bigger and then reinstalled the carpet. I put a sleeve on the box to come through the hole and mount the sub to then just screwed the box to the back of the bulkhead. SPBFAN's idea, it worked great, then after having the box installed I drilled the hole for the port. It thumps hard!!! Enough of the chat here are the pics. First the MDF, then Carpetted.
That's the stereo upgrade part, then Saturday I was supposed to be on the lake, but it's been raining here for three months and Saturday was ugly. So I put on the FAE and now my wife says I am done for this year.
I know that is a lot of pis, but photobucket is awesome and I hope people are not still on dial up.
I have to get to work now, cause I am going to need time off at the lake later today.
